I'm using the Scarlett 2i4 with Pro Tools 12.5.2 on a MacBook Pro 2.9 Ghz Intel Core i5. Yes, direct monitor is turned completely to playback. I also have no audio from the rear output jacks. I have no audio from the front headphone jack. Hey there! I'm running into the same problem on a two year old interface. something along those lines if anyone can offer suggestions? I really would like to get the RME babyface but is the price really justified? I'm not really keen to replace the 2i2 - instead I'm thinking Roland Quad-Capture / Komplete Audio 6 etc. I'm guessing the interface is fried and it's time to buy a new one. I have tried 3 different USB ports (both USB 2.0 and 3.0) and I have even tried installing the interface on another machine, but all to no avail. I posted on other forums and most people replied saying that I burnt out the capacitors inside in Scarlett, due to phantom power perhaps being left turned on on the mixing desk. Upon plugging in a microphone / guitar into either input, there are no halo light gain indicators and no input level whatsoever also. but there is no signal whatsoever coming from the interface. The interface is still recognized in windows and reaper, and will even 'play' audio as displayed by the audo levels in reaper's mixer / pc sound. I believe it was a result of plugging the output of the interface into a mixing desk (for live use) and after this there is no signal from any input/output. I now have the same problem with my Scarlett 2i2. If you have any ideas that I haven't already tried PLEEEEEEEEEASE HELP!!!!! thank you Could it just be coincidence that my box went bad at this time? Except I get a brief flicker from the amber rings if I unplug/replug the 2i2's USBĪfter all that I've tried I fear the 2i2 itself is defective, but I just can't imagine how my little bro could have done anything to fry it.
The only thing that seems out of place is I have no amber rings around the gain knobs (I seem to recall they would show up constantly before) or any color rings for that matter, if I attempt to use my mic lines as I always have. All levels and connections are setup properly.

I've tried many restarts, uninstalling/reinstalling the drivers, drivers ARE up to date, but to no avail. But no audio plays back via the line out ports in the back OR the headphone port in the front If I play audio, windows shows that it IS sending signal (the green bar). The sound according to windows IS being sent to my "line in" device (AKA scarlett 2i2, same as it always has been). I was away from home for 2 days, during which my brother and his friend wanted to record on my PC (they had no experience and I had no idea that they were poking around with my equipment) but when I came back to use my computer, the audio would not play.
My Scarlett 2i2 worked perfectly for many months.
